Sat 1 & Sun 2 June 2024, Brockwell Park, London

You asked, we listened. We moved mountains, but we have managed to pull off the reunion of the year… Yes, we got Clea back together to perform at Mighty Hoopla 2023!

We sat down with the girls to discuss their comeback, and what to expect at their first show in over 18 years…

How does it feel to be back?

Emma – It’s hard to put into words to be honest as it felt a little surreal but at the same time comforting and important. After all these years we get this beautiful opportunity to perform together again but this time, on our own terms, as life long friends. We’re four women now and what makes it even more special for us is that our children, nieces and nephews will get the chance to see us doing what we used to do and the thing we loved! So, thank you Mighty Hoopla for helping to make this happen.

When did the reunion conversations begin?
Chloé – the reunion conversation has actually been happening for years by our fans first. I hosted and DJ’ed my own radio show “Vibes 4 U” in Canada (an iHeart radio station) and decided I wanted to have the girls on my last show, which was our first interview together as the original band in 18 years! On the show we talked about the idea of us ever re-uniting and felt it would be a wonderful thing in the right circumstances. After the radio show aired, it was received so well by the audience and our fans, it then sparked a buzz around us. A couple of months later we met up and knew it was divine timing for us to join forces again. When you saw the love from your community and ours about your reunion, how did it make you feel?

Lynsey – I was completely overwhelmed and I’m sure the girls will agree that it brought back a lot of happy memories for us. It has been lovely to hear from our fanbase again that used to support us so amazingly back in the day. We had quite the journey over the years and we want to make this an amazing comeback performance so that we can give back the love!

What’s changed for you as a band since the last time you were together?
Emma – Wow that’s a good question. So much and yet so little! We don’t live together anymore, or coordinate our outfits haha! We’ve grown up, each gone on to have exciting and rewarding careers, raise young families, travel and find many other passions from
climbing mountains, practising yoga, songwriting to DJing. The one thing that’s remained constant though is our love for music and above all our friendship, no matter the distance or time apart.

Have you ever had a Hoopla experience before, what are you most excited about?
Aimée – I sure have, Hoopla is one of my favourite London festivals each year and me and my cousin Dale always look forward to it and the planning of our outfits for the occasion! Last year, Jessie Ware was a highlight for me and of course the return of the Sugababes. You can always count on Hoopla to create an iconic festival line-up that we all want to see!

Let’s talk looks – what are you planning for your set?
Chloé – Well that’s going to be a surprise but what we can say is that it’s going to be a set that all of our fans will know and love. Of course we will include our singles “Download It” and “Stuck In The Middle”. The other choices will be music we felt should have been a single from our album “Identity Crisis” and other crowd pleasers. We are in talks and discussions in terms of art direction, which will be revamped from
scratch with a fresh new image to look forward to as well.

What other acts are you excited for on the Hoopla line up?
Aimée – Who am I not excited to see on this year’s line-up! It has to be one of the best ever, and I can’t wait to see the likes of Kelly Rowland, Years & Years and Natasha Bedingfield take to the stage. It’s going to be so nostalgic and we feel so grateful to be a part of this year’s
amazing line-up and can’t wait to get on that stage.

Do you have a message to your fans ahead of June?
Lynsey – We want to thank each and every one of them for their support over the years and for the love and encouragement they have shown us on the news of us performing at Hoopla 2023! We plan to make this performance a special one and can’t wait to see you in
June.

Thank you so much ladies – we can’t wait to see you on the 3rd June!
