Set against the frantic backdrop of morning TV shows such as CD:UK and Top of the Pops Saturday, V (comprised of Antony Brant, Kevin McDaid, Leon Pisani, Mark Harle & Aaron Buckingham) – made a determined and honourable effort to convince the British public that all-singing/kind of dancing boybands were still a thing. Working with pop producer heavyweights including Stargate and Xenomania, the group released 3 singles – Blood, Sweat & Tears, Hip To Hip/Can U Feel It and You Stood Up (2 of which reached the Top Ten of the charts) and were popping up on television, radio tours and Woolworths CD signings across the land before dropping their debut album in time for Christmas – an ill-advised record label move that sadly saw the album land outside the chart on week of release. 20 years later and all grown up, V.2.0 is now in motion with 4 of the band’s members reforming to release new music and perform shows across the UK throughout 2024 and beyond.
